Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) has recognized Malaysian Computational Linguistics Olympiad (MyCLO) 2018, Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO) 2019 and International Olympiad of Linguistics (IOL) 2019 that enables all the participants to get co-curriculum marks based on the level of the participation.
MyCLO 2019 was held successfully in 5 different venues which is in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Pahang, Melaka and Sarawak. This olympiad received almost 300 participants from all over Malaysia, double the number of participants in 2018.

MyCLO 2019 will be held on 19th October 2019 in 5 different venues from all over Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka, Pahang and Sarawak. Find more details on each venues at https://www.myclo.my/contest-info
Malaysian team showed improvement in this year's IOL as we managed to bagged 1 silver (Yeoh Zi Song) and 1 bronze medal (Ooi Zhe Ren) in individual category. Meanwhile, team Malaysia A also surprised the audiences as they managed to received a bronze medal in team category. Congratulations guys!
8 students and 2 leaders who represented Malaysia in IOL 2019 flew to Yongin, Korea yesterday. This is our second participation in IOL. They are expected to compete with more than 200 participants from 37 countries and regions. This number of participants marked IOL 2019 as the biggest IOL ever! Good luck guys!
Registration for MYCLO 2019 is now opened. Registration is open to all secondary school students. MyCLO also accepts individual registrations as well as registrations that are carried out by Teacher-In-Charge of schools.
Malaysia A consists of Ong Jing Kai, Yeoh Zi Song, Ooi Zhe Ren and Go Jun Xing. Malaysia B consists of Ong Heyang, Lee Ci Hui, Wong Jer Ren and Nur Fatin Najihah Ruslan. Both team will be led by Mr Khairul Anwar and Miss Nur Ruqayya. Congratulations guys!
Malaysia ranked sixth among the 10 participating countries in APLO 2019. Our students bagged 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Our best students and the only gold medalist, Ong Jing Kai ranked ninth out of 250 contestants. Congratulations!
In order to participate in our second IOL this year, our secretariat has selected 15 students to undergo the IOL National Training Camp 2019 that was held in University of Malaya on 1-5 May 2019. This is the last stage before 8 students will be selected to represent our respective country in IOL 2019

15 top students of MyCLO 2018 has been selected to participate in Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO) 2019 that was held on 5th May 2019 in University of Malaya. APLO is a regional linguistics olympiad with the aim of escalating attention to language and linguistics in the Asia Pacific region.

MyCLO secretariats met Asst. Prof. Dr. Zurahani a Clinical Phonetician from IIUM to discuss about the collaboration with her in the upcoming IOL National Training Camp. She is a linguist with a 20 years of experience and it will be great if we could work with her in the future.
Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) give an endorsement to all MyCLO programs for 2019. With this endorsement, school students can participate in MyCLO 2019 and will be able to collect co-curriculum marks.

20 top students of MyCLO 2018 has been selected to participate in APLO 2019 Training Camp. This 4-days camp took place at Kolej PERMATA Insan, USIM from 14 to 17 December 2018. This camp mainly focused on their problem solving skills. APLO 2019 will be held on 4th May 2019.
FIRST MEDAL FOR MALAYSIA!

Yeoh Zi Song managed to get a silver medal in our first participation in IOL. He who represented team Malaysia B did very well in an individual and group task that enable him to collect 63.8 points and ranked at 19th from all of the IOL 2018 contestants.
On 6-10 July 2018, top 8 students from MyCLO 2018 has been selected to represent Malaysia for the first time in the upcoming IOL 2018. These 'pilot' students has been given with an intensive training by the national coach, Mr Suhaimi Ramly. This camp was held at Kolej PERMATA Insan, USIM.
120 participants from all over Malaysia were assembled at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, KL to participate in the first MyCLO 2018. Top 8 students from all these participants will be chosen to represent Malaysia for the first time in IOL 2018. Stay tuned!

IOL General Chairman, Stanislav Gurevich came to Malaysia to launch MyCLO officially. His 4-days visit was to consult the secretariats on the flow of MyCLO programs and to design MyCLO 2018 questions. He also gave a public talk about MyCLO and IOL at Kolej Permata Insan, USIM. Thank you Stanislav.

MyCLO Director, Mr Khairul Anwar and national coach, Mr Suhaimi Ramly came to IOL 2017 that was held in Dublin, Ireland as an observer. This is the opportunity for us to acquire knowledge and experience on the flow of MyCLO and IOL.
